What forces apply on diffrent parts of a roller coaster model?
Q. What forces apply on diffrent parts of a roller coaster? I know that GPE, EK, Friction, Air resistance, Normal apply on almost every part of the roller coaster, but if I want to be exact: 1) What other force applies on a roller coaster model? 2) Explain a bit more about the force of ... I don't know what it's called, but I think it has something to do with the turning around a "center" in the loops.
Asked by Toczic - Mon Dec 17 17:54:03 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. If you have a loop in your roller coaster, the riders will experience an 'apparent' force called 'centrifugal force' It's not really a force in the classic sense, but it feels like one to the riders just the same. The real name for the effect is 'centripetal acceleration' and its an outward force in any circular motion.

Can I apply for early action to some schools, but apply regular decision to others?
Q. i'm curious about this because there are a few schools i would like to apply to now, but I would like to apply to my two reach schools once my mid-term grades come in. can i do this? or are the deadlines to respond to early action earlier than regular decision?
Asked by Aaron - Sun Sep 9 14:48:28 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. first of all, they don't take mid-term grades into consideration so that is useless. Second, there is always a deadline on early decision which is usually sometime in either september or october... so apply now!

How do you apply to dental schools?
Q. I am an upcoming sophomore, but I would like to know how to apply to dental schools beforehand. I heard that in order to apply to dental schools, we have to take the DAT (Dental Admissions Test). I would like to know more about applying to dental schools. This can also help other people who are planning to go to dental schools in the near future. Thank you.
Asked by Steve - Fri Jul 11 06:43:53 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. yes you're right you have to take the DATs. as you probably already know it consists of math, biology, chemistry, physics, and the PAT (the perceptual ability test). depending on what dental school, you'll want to shoot at least 17 or above. a good score would be above 20. get good grades in college. more and more people are applying to dental school, so it's getting more competitive. you'll want at least 3.3 in college. 3.5-3.7 will get you into most schools. outside stuff: it's best to have volunteer work (in a dental setting), research, leadership positions etc etc, but w/o good grades and good DATs, it's hard to even get an interview if you have all sorts of extras. other than that talk to alot of practicing dentists. … [cont.]

Q. I have dark hair, tanned skin, and dark brown eyes. How do I apply a black eyeliner to the lower lid to make my eyes look professional like the movie stars? I want my eyes to appear dark and defined, for everyday use.
Asked by Ann - Tue Nov 27 20:06:58 2007 - - 9 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Apply it under the eyelashes, a little smudgy using a pencil rather than liquid. But, don't use black, use a charcoal, deep slate or navy blue, or deep burgundy. Do not put it all the way in the interior corner of your eye -- use a little pale blue or ocher in that area. If you use base, do not bring it up to your lower lashes, but stop a little short, and use a touch of powder to help it stay. Applying it over your lashes will actually make your brown eyes look way smaller, the ridge of flesh above your lashes will make your eyes look way larger. You do, after all, want your eyes to look large and seductive, not beady and all made up.

Can I apply early action to University of Chicago and early decision to Dartmouth?
Q. Can I apply early action to University of Chicago and still apply to Dartmouth early decision? The deadlines are on the same day, Nov. 1.
Asked by Jane L - Sun Jul 5 05:21:19 2009 - - 1 Answers - 1 Comments

A. "In other words, Chicago s early action program is non-binding; admitted students need not reply to the offer of admission until May 1." You are definitely allowed to apply early action of U of C and early decision to Dartmouth. Since early decision is binding though, make sure you are committed to going to Dartmouth (rather than U of C) if you get in.

A. you would definately have an edge at a makeup counter, skin care store, or beauty supply store, or even salon receptionist. Outside of being an esthetician (waxing, facials, etc.) your license does not apply. I would look into makeup artistry. You don't require a license and no one is better suited for it than a licensed esthetician. You could also find a specialty like eyelash extensions, also no license required ( just a certification in some cases). If you decided to train for 7 more months you could get a cosmetology license which gives you a more broad range. It covers not only an estheticians license but also a nail techs license plus hair of course. Oh and for just a hundred hours or so you could be certified for swedish… [cont.]

A. The only way your mother can apply for a loan in her business name is if she obtained a EIN (Tax I.D) number from the IRS. Its free to get one, however when it comes to Tax time she will need to file additional forms. If your mother has employees she will have to obtain a EIN number anyways for tax filling. Hope this helps!!!

Asked by navrose_aulakh - Mon Oct 20 20:36:31 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Your brother could not accompany your parents when they immigrate because there is no dependent classification for IR-5's, parents of U.S. citizens. You can petition for your brother, but the waiting period is a very long one. You would use form I-130 to petition. Your brother would qualify for the F4-1 classification. If your parents ever naturalize (after five years as residents), they could petition for him too. They'd use form I-130 to petition. If he remains single, he'd qualify for the F1-1 classification. If he marries, he'd qualify for the F3-1 classification. If he remains unmarried, and your parents remain legal permanent residents, they could petition for him using form I-130. He would be classified as an F2-1. The wait for… [cont.]

A. If you are using a spray, practice gradient on a large blank piece of paper. Once you master the fad/feathering, you can appropriately apply the tanning agent to your flesh. Tricks like moving away and closer also effect the intensity.

A. You can apply but I believe there is a waiting list to get housing for a year or more depending on your needs. It is better to get on a waiting list now, then to wait until the list goes down. If necessary, call the housing office weekly or do a internet search of the HUD website. Sometimes they will list some available housing on their website.

How can you apply texture to a repaired plaster wall without a compressor?
Q. I repaired a long crack in my wall with plaster. The repair is now smoothe and I would like to apply some texture material to blend it in with the rest of the knockdown-type texture. Is there a way to apply the texture material without a gun and compressor to spray it on? I don't want to buy a compressor just for this one little job.
Asked by HOTSAM329 - Mon Jan 15 02:01:41 2007 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments

A. First thing you need to do, is prime that repair area... if you don't, it will end up a different color. Ive had a LOT of practice with MANY different textures, on walls and ceilings. Your best helps here, are patience, persistence, and a willingness to do it over if doesnt look quite right, hehehe. An artistic 'bent' helps too. For a small knockdown finish, there are a couple of good ways to apply the texture, in small areas, without a compressor. 1) paint brush! -- only don't use it to 'paint'. Instead, use the very tips of the brush to 'stipple' the texture on. Another method is to "fling" the texture onto the wall, with the brush. 2)Sponge -- you can use a rough sponge to apply texture... do not slide the sponge... dab it,… [cont.]

How would I apply to college after taking a year off after high school?
Q. Hi, I am going to be a senior this year and I am going to take a year off after graduating to get a job and save up money, then go to college. How would I apply, how do i get my transcripts, etc? Also, am I doing the right thing; will it be just as easy applying to college not being a senior? Do you have any advice for me? I am very confused right now about doing the right thing!
Asked by krissy - Sun Aug 9 18:04:59 2009 - - 8 Answers - 0 Comments

A. If you can, consider taking a few classes at a community college and working full time. It's easier if you don't get out of the study habit and you might find it harder to go to college after a year away. CC is much less expensive and you will still be working to the goal of that degree. You request your transcripts from your high school just like you do now. They often have a form for you to fill out. There is no real difference with applying now and applying in a year. You fill out the paperwork. Be sure to look into financial aid and scholarships. Work study is working on campus, around your schedule, to help you pay college costs. Filling out a FAFSA is the first step to getting financial aid.
