Q. I am a recent graduate with a bachelors degree(in an unrelated field) and I'm not having much luck finding a job. I'm thinking about going to a community college to get an associates degree in dental hygiene. Is this a bad idea?

A. I have a bachelors of science degree in research psychology and I am doing the prerequisites from Dental Hygiene now. Everyone tried to talk me out of it because no one thought it made sense for me to pursue an associates degree because I had a bachelors degree. I explained to everyone that with a bachelors degree in psychology I would have to go back to school anyway, so I might as well go back and do something I want to do. The only reason why I am doing this is because this is something that I truly want to do because I am slightly obsessed with cleaning teeth. The prerequisites are hard and time consuming because they are mostly science classes. Check to see which ones you have to do before you get accepted into a program. … [cont.]
