In some regions, the carbonate rock neutralizes the acid rain before it builds up in lakes. c. The wind patterns blow pollution away so the pollution doesn't affect the local area as much. d. Some areas have stricter laws controlling the amount of pollution dumped into the atmosphere. e. All of these are reasons why acid rain affects regions differently.
